An end and the story of a beginning.

First off, the site is back. At the end of 2018, my web site host migrated my site from one server to another to increase up-time and reduce strain on equipment. During the migration, the database containing all my blog posts from the end of the old “Island on the Web” to the current side, Boompoet.com, was lost. My site is a good case for off site back up.

Yadda yadda yadda… Welcome to the new Boompoet.com.

On Sunday the 13th of February of 2011, I met a woman for lunch and I knew by the end of the entree that I would be married to this woman. There was not a shadow of a doubt in my mind. I know it sounds trite, but her soul spoke to me in a way I had not felt before and I’m sure anyone who has found that special “the one” knows what I’m talking about. At some point between then and the end of 2011, she got used to the idea of marrying me and by the end of January, 2012, my wife was my wife. I don’t know where the time has gone.

I never thought of myself as a “marrying type” of guy. I’m unyielding and vocal in my opinions, I am set in many of my ways, I am easily agitated, cripplingly neurotic at times, and, I’m kind of a jerk when you get right down to it. It takes a special kind of woman to deal with my special kind of weird. The flip side of that particular coin is the often infuriating and sometimes baffling nature of an Ohwaitiforgot. She can be just as bullheaded and unthinking as I can and that’s how we’re similar. Our differences numerous and interests are vastly contrasting. When you distill all this down to it’s purest form, it’s the best, I think, a marriage can be. The most important thing is that I love my wonderful wife and she loves me for some reason.

I just want to say Happy Anniversary to my beautiful bride of 7 years and counting.
